Election 2024: EC releases timetable

The Electoral Commission has released the calendar for the 2024 elections.

After an Inter-Party Advisory Committee Meeting the EC and the political parties agreed to the following.

1. Guarantor system maintained.
2. Indelible ink maintained.
3. No continuous registration of voters. Dates for Transfer and Proxy maintained on the calendar.
4. Limited registration to be done in District Offices and agreed difficult to reach areas in Electoral Areas (Movement plan to be shared 21 days to 7th May, 2024).
5. No new polling stations will be created, but new polling centers will be created by splitting polling stations with voters above 749 after limited registration.
